Magnolia Court Apartments, situated in northeast Birmingham, is a 240-unit affordable housing community for families. Originally built in the 1970s, Magnolia Court was substantially rehabilitated to preserved and reposition the property. Major improvements included the replacement of flat Mansard roofs with pitched roofs, vinyl siding replaced by brick veneer and hardy plank cement siding, erection of a new clubhouse and installation of a pool. What was once a degrading eyesore was transformed into an attractive, enduring residential community and major contributor toward neighborhood revitalization.
